Course Details

Sociology will change how you see yourself and the world around you. It will encourage you to question things that others take for granted.

It will help you understand who you are and your place in the world.

Sociology offers a fascinating insight into social and cultural issues. It combines theoretical perspectives and research evidence to explain how societies work and the reasons for inequalities in society. Sociology provides an understanding of the power of society in shaping who we are. Topics studied include Families and Households, Education, Research Methods and Sociological Theories, Belief Systems and Crime and Deviance.

You will need a minimum or five GCSEs, including Grade 5 in English Language together with four other subjects at Grade 4 or above (one of the four subjects must include Maths).

The College will always treat each applicant as an individual. Should you not have or not expect to obtain the grades stated above, or not have relevant industry-related experience, the College would still welcome your application for this course as this will enable us to identify whether this course is, in fact, the right course for you or whether another course may be more appropriate.
