We've put together some answers to questions that we are often asked. We hope these help!

You will receive a letter through the post with your Interview Evening date and time.

You will be invited into college on a weekday evening along with other interested applicants where you will be asked to complete a form.
Afterwards you will have a 1-1 interview with our subject tutors and find out more about Sefton Sixth Form College. You may be with us for up to one hour.

We have team members from the Admissions Team and the Learner Support Team as well as the tutors who will be completing the interviews available to give you information. If we are unable to answer any questions, then you will be signposted to the best person who will be able to help you. This may involve you getting a telephone call or email at a later date.
At your Interview Evening, you’ll be told whether we are able to offer you a place. If successful, you’ll receive an official offer letter in the post within about a week.
We’ll stay in touch with you throughout the year and invite you to our Enrolment events at the end of summer, where you’ll confirm your place, receive your timetable, and be issued with your ID badge.
Please note: if you do not attend Enrolment, you may lose your place even if you already hold an offer.
There are a few outcomes that will happen at an Interview Evening. You can receive an unconditional offer, a conditional offer or be referred.
An unconditional offer means that, based on the information you have given us, we believe you already meet the entry requirements for the course. You will receive a letter from us notifying you of this.
A conditional offer means that you have a place so long as you achieve the entry requirements for the course. You will receive a letter from us notifying you of this.
If you have been referred, then this could have a few different options:
- Referred to another course, we will arrange another Interview Event for you to speak to a course tutor from the other area.
- Referred to the Apprenticeship Team. We will forward your details on to the team who will give you a call about the apprenticeship courses we offer.
- Referred to our Careers Team. We will forward your details on to our Careers Team who will give you a call about options available to you.
If you receive an offer, you will be notified the following week of this.
